Soon as starting his own firm in 1996, Francisco developed a keen interest to serve in the community. Francisco’s passion for Delray Beach fueled years of comunity service. His interest always evolved around using his real estate, planning, design and business skills to assist in the development decisions of the community, advocating for a positive business environment, and helping other businesses succeed.
Francisco has served on multiple City Boards reviewing projects through out the community. As a member of the Planning and Zoning Board, he was able to contribute knowledge and skills to help resolve land use issues. He was elected to the Board of Directors of the Greater Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce in 2000, where he served until 2014. Through the Chamber, he engaged in Economic Development activities to promote a positive standard of living and the economic health of the community.
Francisco has been instrumental in promoting policies, concerted actions and other initiatives to pursue the overall economic growth and the sustainability of the Delray Beach.
Francisco has been a key contributor of the Delray Chamber’s growth through the past few years. In 2013, while serving as Chairman of the Board, he oversaw the building of the new Chamber offices in the Old School Square Parking Garage. His company, Perez Design LLC, donated 100% of the architectural services for the project. In addition, he spend hundreds of hours helping the project team to coordinate between consultants, builders, chamber staff, donors and the community. The end result was a project built on time, on budget and fully funded. The Chamber’s state of the art office space soon became the hub of the business community.
